Tone arms - diameter MV 101, HMV 102, and HMV 145

Post by Tomasz »

Hi everyone,

I'm Tomasz, and I'm excited to join this forum. I have been interested in wind-up gramophones for a while and have been looking forward to connecting with like-minded individuals.
I have a question: Could somebody possibly help me with information about the diameter of the following tone arms: HMV 101, HMV 102, and HMV 145 (both on the sound box side and the horn side)?
I'll be really grateful.

Best regards,
Tomasz

Hi Tomasz, welcome to the group!

I only have some of the info, but I will post it here. Measurements will be approximate. I believe the 145 will have the same diameter at the soundbox end as the 102.

Hope that helps,

All the reentrants from the 102 on, have the same tonearm diameter to receive the 5a/b and no16 soundbox: 102-104-130-145-152-153-158-163-193-194-202-203 and all other models from this era that take these soundboxes.
Indeed the difference is only in the 18mm/20mm tonearm end, but the rubber connectors are interchangeable, as they have the same outer diameter, that fits in the back neck of the no4/5a/5b/16 soundboxes.
