In such cases I keep an open eye during my walks in the streets, peeping at waste containers, etc, for eventually I find a piece of waste construction material, etc, that can be picked up and adapted for a new use. Specially in the waste containers around a new building under construction, overhauling, etc. Many pieces of usable materials can be found which otherwise you can't buy except in large quantities. Also watch things like rubber joints for plumbing, or any other uses, that can be bought at the brick-marts, and simply cut away or adapt for other gramophonic uses...
Gramophone George has agreed to help me with my issue!

Internet troll indeed! Give me a break!

Obviously OP is not a real Edisonfan.

No what we have here is a good old fashion internet troll.

No, he's not a "troll". While I too have been frustrated by his approach to this repair, I don't believe it's necessary to resort to name calling. As Edisonfan points out, he's a long time contributor here. Let's just be patient, (myself included).

You need to develop a thicker skin. Edisonfan is a well respected long time member here. His mildly annoying sarcasm (bordering on contempt) at some attempts to offer help here (mine?) are entirely atypical of his normal gentlemanly behaviour. If he is a troll we need more trolls like him.

We're talking $6.00 and some scrap rubber...? Why ask questions if you don't like/want answers???

Worried about "waste"? Wasting money or un-needed Material? Everything that is used or not used eventually turns into waste... beer, food, EV batteries, scraps of rubber, old phonographs, cars, abandoned houses, broken records - EVERYTHING...

"No one needs a Victrola XX, a Perfected Graphophone Type G, or whatever you call those noisy things."

Fair point!

I have a QRS reproducer that I found on ebay. This reproducer had a piece missing from the back and I asked Wyatt Markus if he could fix it. He actually responded in great detail on how to repair it with epoxy. My point is I had to buy epoxy to make a small repair. Now I've repaired several other broken reproducers that normally get passed on by using Wyatt's advice. The reproducer you have probably needs to be rebuilt so just contact someone like Wyatt and see if they can rebuild it and make a new rubber seal for you. I love this hobby and one thing I've learned is that repairs and failed experiments always leave surplus. My wife hasn't quite come to terms with it but as long as the two boxes of parts stay in the garage she is ok with it.

Gramophone_George who is a member here said he could fashion something for my reproducer

Yes I was completely out of line for calling Edisonfan a “internet troll”.

I apologize for allowing his “mildly annoying sarcasm (bordering on contempt) at some attempts to offer help” to pierce my thin skin.

As Lou Costello once said “I’ve been a bad BOY!”

Now let’s all get back the adventures of the QRS reproducer rubber insulator gasket.

We last left off with Gramophone George attempting to to adapt vintage air cooled VW gasket. Will this work?

Stay tuned!
