Interesting newspapers I tried to read some of it. Were they found under the motor or in the horn?

Calc ;
0.118*9.81 = 1.15758 N (newtone)
1,15758 / 0,0000007 = 1 653 685,71 Pa for M2, 1,15758 / 0,7= 1,65 Pa per Mn
1.65Pa for the Pressure on maid by the Needle and the Soundbox
I’m leaving it to Inigo to verify these calculations. :D

Ahem... :coffee:
Yes, that good calculation establishes the pressure at the needle point as 1.65MPa, accounting for an area of contact at the point needle estimated in 0.7 mm2, which may seem correct, with a soundbox weight of 118 grams.
For your comparison, this pressure may be the typical soil pressure under a house foundation mat, for instance. This number may sound large, but think that current mild steel ultimate resistance, as that of the needle, is in the order of 400MPa, almost 250 times larger.
I hope colleague jamiegramo is happy with this... 8-)

The soundbox looks like a Columbia No 15 to me with a different front plate. However there was an Odeon soundbox, used on the Bauhaus, that appered to be based on the Columbia. Picture attached.
Odeon were also incorporated into EMI so it makes sense!

Bonjour Andrew,

Voyant le journal, est-ce que vous vous habitez également dans le nord, au moins près de Lille ? :)
