That's what I thought. So I have barely ¼" lift. I would surmise that means I need to drop my repeater arm. Correct?

Lightly loosen the repeater arm but not to the point it is loose and set it up on the worm gear. Hold the arm in place with one hand and lift the carriage until its clearing a cylinder. Then tighten it back up. Readjust the half nut pressure if needed.

The only "correct" amount of repeater lift is that which allows the stylus to clear the record.

If memory serves, (and it may not), there is not a lot of adjustment available in the lift arm. I believe you could/should make your lift adjustment where the carriage clamps at the back.

I agree with Jerry. Adjust from that screw on the back of the carriage.

Thanks to all of you for your input. The repeater is up and running like a champ, lifting the Music Master cygnet with no issues. In the end, I raised the carriage slightly, which helped, but it still dragged. Then I lowered the repeater lift arm, which had the impact of raising the carriage while doing its thing. After that, it didn't drag on the cylinder, but wasn't picking up cleanly. Then I raised the MM Horn, via the screw on the crane, and it worked properly. It is smooth and as dependable as a repeater can be. I can always count on you guys.

Jealous! I’ve got a Triumph with a model d repeater which works, but won’t lift my cygnet horn!
