FOUND: GEM B motor part

Post by Roaring20s »

Gem B Mainspring Shaft w/Ratchet Gear is what I need.

I'm working on a Gem B that has a broken winding pawl with flat spring of the type I've pictured. I'm guessing need the entire shaft with the pressed-on ratchet and first gear as a unit? I've also seen a different style pawl and spring.

Thanks,

Does anyone know if the bad pawl from my Gem B part can be replaced for a good pawl from my Gem A part? (and who can get it done)

Thanks,
James.

Can you post pictures of the A & B pawls?

Thanks for your response.
Here are more images.

The A has the long shaft for the key to wind it.
Hmm ... a simple solution may be ...
I measured the thicknesses of the shafts and they are the same.
It looks like I can shorten the A shaft and notch it for the set screw.

And done ... a simple solution was in front of my eyes. :geek:
Thanks to Jerry for wanting to help and to see more pictures! :D
