Really wanted to create a book for this material as I haven't found one that covers it, of course, Michael Sherman briefly went over these types in his Guide, but a full book is always nice.

So far the cover could use some work.

Be sure to look up Samuel Murchison Seka on the interwebs for some music and phonograph reading material.

Did Victor really send agents to China in 1902? I thought that all of the first recordings were made in the U.S. by the Chinese colony there.
Here is a good overview of Chinese recordings, both on cylinders and discs, between ca. 1900 and 1911: https://www.capsnews.org/apn2008-1.htm

Some were recorded domestically, some were recorded from G&T/Victor agents sent to China around 1902~, Columbia also did the same. Eventually, Victor stopped doing domestic recordings all together (though I can't find as to why?), & thanks for the article, I need some sources.
