Here in Australia the gem horns are iridescent red, black, green, light blue and dark blue. All one piece. The cygnet horns are iridescent red, black, green, light blue and maroon. All 11 panel. It is assumed these horns were made here.
I have an Australian Edison catalogue that mentions these coloured horns but not the iridescent cygnet horn. It states the maroon colour in a large straight horn, but I have never seen or heard of one. The two colour blues may just be different batches.
The original painted cygnet horns are and have always been hard to find.

I have a large iridescent red horn for a Victor 5. It has the Victor decal. I wonder if it came from Australia? Maybe a mahogany 5?

Ford & Edison were friends. Model T's and Edison horns were (mostly) black. I must say I like these alternative colours!

Yes. But interestingly, Australian Model T's came in various colors while their American cousins were still black. The Aussies also began using nickel plating much earlier as well. Is there something particular to Australians that make them crave color? Some of the reason for color in Australian Model T's was the fact that while the chassis were made in Canada, the bodies were produced in Australia, (by firms such as Duncan & Frasier), so there was some freedom outside of the norms of the Ford Motor Company. In the early- to mid-twenties Cadillacs could be ordered with black-painted headlights, windshields, and radiator grills. I would say most are found that way in North America. But the Australians tended to orded those components nickel-plated. And there were even aluminum body trim parts -- optional. Rarely seen in North America; not rare in Australia. The Australian versions are sharper.
