It certainly looks HMV. It might have been helpful if the auctioneer had put the dimensions.

It is indeed the bifurcated horn from an HMV157. The rear of the full Re-Entrant horn in my HMV193 looks like this :

These days worth more in scrap metal value than as an original gramophone part! (the 157 horn)

If i had one of those surplus horns I'd build a gramophone around it. Their sound is very beautiful.

This horn of hmv157 is a lot smaller than vv 8-8, 9 and 35's, but they look very similar. Hmv157's horn opening is 390x500mm=1,950cm2, vv8-8,9,35 horn opening is 3498.25cm2.
