Victor Art Shop Ad....1924

Post by Lenoirstreetguy »

To get you guys through the withdrawal symptoms from the Victrola site being down here's an ad from The International Studio Magazine of August 1924. I saw this model once for sale in a junk shop here in Toronto...sans mechanism of course. And why didn't I buy it,I hear you cry? First it was pre-E bay and I wondered where on earth I would get the fiddly bits for it, secondly I was in grad school and poor, and finally even if I hadn't been in school the seller wanted an arm and a leg for it because she thought it was a real Tudor cabinet. I pointed out the Victor logo inside but she wasn't convinced. Ye Olde 1590 Talkinge Machine. :D

Thanks, Jim, again for your great scans. I've seen this ad before but not it color.

Is there a model # for that?

I would nearly give my soul for that one!
