WANTED: Early Style Victor stylus bar parts

Does anyone make or have parts for this early Victor stylus bar? I'm slowly plugging away on my Victor II restoration, and would like to save it, as it's an early style.

You could place an ad in our YT section..... . It's actually a spring loaded lever designed by Gibson.

Garret, You are most welcome and "yes" your needle bar is missing the spring and lever. Oddly enough, the lever is almost the same has found on a Berliner/Johnson side style brake. So, if you could find a repro Berliner side brake (for the lever).....But, you will still need a special made spring. That may be a difficult task.

I'm not sure it is a "machined" part, but made from brass rod stock. Then, adding the ball on the end. The spring will be the really challenge in my opinion. You will need both parts in order to have them made correct. Best of luck..... .

I have made small springs like that on my lathe by winding wire on a rod. The last ones were for the Columbia plunger brakes I made. If you find the lever, I will try to help you with the spring.

Just a little FYI for members that have wondered why there is a notch in the face plate that was offered "together" with the rear volume control for reproducer's. It was to allow the lever on a early Victor Exhibition to pass in enough to release the needle out of the chuck. So, one could conclude the face plates were made expressly for the early "lever" type reproducer. The set was also pre-drilled for other brands as well (like Columbia). Did they also have a lever in that same place or was the notch created expressly for Victor's Exhibition ?. I wonder.... .
