FOR SALE: 2 edison machines

I have for sale 2 edison machines pick up only one is a master shaver the other is an ediphone. I am asking 200.00 or best offer. I also have the part for the edisphone that you hold in your hand and speak into. I purchased these at an estate of an edison collector .

I will attest these are really nice units folks to learn about recording. The Ediphone blanks are plentiful and new ones are available too. I have done some good music recording on these machines before, as the recorder is very similar to a studio recorder. This is also one of the best shavers you can get, There is one in the Los Angeles recording studio and it makes the cleanest, quietest blanks.

The photo does however point out something, people were not believing about the stability of dictation machine blanks. You see the white haze on the blank in the photograph, it is over 50 years old and still weeping, see the blue haze. This is why these blanks can't make recordings that will last forever, well maybe in california, Arizona and Texas, but for the rest of us, they are hard to keep without this fog or bloom it is not mold. In fact when you open a sealed box of Ediphone blanks they have this blue paper that says Important New Cylinders Should be Shaved before Using and these new blanks will look like the one on there, most likely NOS.

I agree there good I cant use them I am moveing some day and I have no room I am open to offers I have the price quoted into then that I paid I think the lowest I go is $200.00
