Yes my feeling on hearing the better of the few I have is that most likely they approach the tone and clarity of recorded sound achieved by Edison. I was disappointed however that they suffer from issues as well as do others of the time. I had hoped the recording and record pressing methods of Pathé might be the best, but so far it is running more average ones to the superior ones.
