Oak Cylinder Cabinet F/S - Can deliver to Wayne NJ Show

Post by brianu »

I have a cylinder record cabinet that needs a little work, and I'm never going to get around to it. It's oak, and a decent size, with shelves on hinges that allow them to pivot out for easy access to the cylinders. The cabinet is solid and pretty clean, with some minor wear here and there. One of the pivoting shelves appears to be missing, and none of the "pegs" that hold the cylinders are present, although the rings into which they fit are there and the pegs could be recreated or purchased. I'd like $150 for it, and can bring it to the Wayne NJ phonograph show this April... or you can pick it up from my place in Woodbury, NJ.

I'll snap a few photos later today.

Email me if you're interested... brianu73 at hotmail dot com.

I also still have a super early tabletop VV-X for sale, as well as a really nice and rare upright oversized Aeolian (which is pictured in one of Fabrizio's books), an oak cabinet that matches (for a Victor V), among other things.

Brian,

Nice photos. Are those metal rings attached to the shelves to keep the cylinders in place? (I know their purpose, I’m merely curious about the construction.)

no, those rings on the shelves are actually grooves into which those cardboard tubes would fit, the tubes that you could slip the cylinders onto for safer storage.

I may have to wear my cycling helmet with the rear view mirror so I can see you sneaking up behind me. Probably less noticable in a crowded room than an orange hat.
