Columbia ID please

I got this columbia ??? at a local consignment shop along with some victor parts ( horn , back bracket tonearm ) that I was informed by the manager that all (victor) the parts are correct for this machine. anyway I think the base is some columbia based phonograph and I took pictures for you. the base measures 9-⅞" square, top motor board is 9" square, mid-section is 8-⅜" and 5" tall I would like to know the model ( ie x, AJ etc ) it so I can look for the arm and support for the front mount. I tried the arms off my AH and they were too long. Thank you for any help you can offer

You're right - it's a Columbia machine, but manufactured for a client. The cabinet looks like a BL (also used for the Standard Talking Machine X and X2), but the support bracket is like that used on the BA. I would try to get a support arm and traveling arm for a BA. I believe they are available as reproduction from JAS Antiques (ladenjus on eBay).

The turntable looks like a Victor. You shouldn't have much trouble finding parts for this.

What you have is a Harvard No.1. They were manufactured by Columbia for Sears. They were made from about 1906-9. They sold for $8.75. They used a 7" turntable and all black 14" horn with 8 ½ bell.The horn uses the brass Columbia elbow and unmarked Analyzing reproducer. The tone arm is similar to a Standard X, and the tone arm support is the same size as an AK. The support arm has curlycues instead of Columbia embossed on it. If anybody has a reprinted Sears catalog, please post pictures of the Harvard machines. I don't have the equipment or knowledge to post pictures. The Harvard series are very interesting and unique machines.

Thanks for posting the picture. On another note(pardon the pun), awhile ago, I started a thread about getting kicked out of a Washington state park about getting kicked out for playing a wind up phonograph too loud. The Harvard No.1 shown in the picture was the culprit.
