I just noticed that. You may be right or a person that rarely posts on CL..??. I have seen this before...with luck, they will wonder why no replies.
Fingers crossed..... :).

One machine is stated fort sale. Yet, the first photo is of a different machine from the other images. No reply. I've chased that dream before.

Cleveland is correct because it's on display in my living room! I purchased it in 2010 and it came with a large brass Bettini horn which is in one of the pics. Funny thing is that I don't even have all of those pictures anymore.

Well, clearly a scam. However, is it two machines as James wrote or only one... :?. I have also seen pics on CL from seller "bradsantiques" (off Ebay) used in CL listings even up here.
Why even bother....

It's one machine (Edison Spring Motor). The first photo is the lid which covers the whole machine. Only a kook would post that!

We've had scams on Portland craigslist for several years now. Until this, they have all been Auxetophone related. For example, one ad supposedly offered an "Auxetophone Opera" for sale from his uncle's estate. I don't believe they were intended to cheat someone out of money. I do believe the intention was to be irritating or to simply stir up local collectors. Jerry Blais

I'm sure you were calling the craigslister a kook. :P ;)

:coffee: The first open view looks to have surface rust not on the others. Probably just color reflected upon it.
I see now that the second and third open views do have more subtle color differences occurring on the serial number plate and the on/off lever.
