The brass main drive gear that's attached to the spring barrel in my humpback Victor II is severely worn and needs to be replaced. Are new ones available?
Thanks,
Stephen

Is it so badly worn that you can't remove it and flip it over to use the un-worn backside of the gear teeth?

Not only is it badly worn, but several of the the teeth a crushed from the side. It has to be replaced, unfortunately.JerryVan wrote: Wed Feb 22, 2023 1:34 pm Is it so badly worn that you can't remove it and flip it over to use the un-worn backside of the gear teeth?

Re: Victor II spring barrel brass gear
I believe that the spring barrel and gear are the same as those used on the first style VV-X, (tabletop), VV-XI, (table top), Victor III, IV, V, later VI and any of the L-Doore Victrolas or post 1906 VTLA. The gears are riveted to the spring barrel, so it would be easier to replace the barrel and gear as a unit.

Re: Victor II spring barrel brass gear
I have this, if you pay the postage from Canada, you may have it.
It did not fit my Victor II motor, even though the teeth are the correct number to fit into the worm, the pitch is different and it binds, so I don't know what it's off of.
It may work on yours though, I've put bushing in it too.

Jeff, I really appreciate your offer. Unfortunately, the gear for my motor has much coarser teeth than the one shown in your pictures.JeffR1 wrote: Thu Feb 23, 2023 6:37 pm I have this, if you pay the postage from Canada, you may have it.

Those are pretty common, it's these fine toothed ones that are hard to find, at least that's what I've discovered.
Someone here should have one of those.

Here's another one from the same seller, less the male threads on the crank shaft is twisted off.
