I suspect finding a real "D" ID tag will be somewhat difficult. Would it be possible to take a similar style tag, fill in the rectangle boxes that indicate the type and serial number, and have a jeweler engrave a "D" and an appropriate serial number? Just a thought...

Hi Jerry. At one time someone was making repro ID plates with emty boxes, but I don't know if they made this style. I imagine it could be done, i'd just like to have something that looks appropriate. It kills me not to know the serial number for this machine!

Found the tag you are looking for? Suggestion from Jerry would provide a more original solution, but I have found a repro Victor Dog tag, un-stamped. At one time had three of these and thought all had been sold but that is not the case. Made of brass and painted black as the originals. Think I had plans of using it if I decided to buy a repro Victor 6 case but never did. Tag is good but not an exact match. Never nickel plated prior to painting. May work good for your situation until an original finds it way to you. Not sure if you still need this. If so can send pictures.
