Edison reproducer - limit pin loop

Post by Roaring20s »

My junk drawer had four different reproducer parts (C & H), so I made a whole one today, with one exception. The limit pin loop was sheared off of the top ... so I made one. I just have basic tools to work with, imagination, and patience.

The shape of the loop can be made from using a nail, screwdriver of the correct size. It took three tries to bend the loop small enough and have the feet in the correct location.

Curve and flatten the feet. Glued it in place.

It works just fine!

That is a good trick to remember if I need one. What glue did you use to ??

Well done, James. One gentle question. Won't the shoulders of the limit loop you've made that rest on the top on the reproducer "wall" make the reproducer become slightly raised on that end from its original flat position inside the carriage eye? I'm wondering if carefully sanding a recessed area (with a dremel) on either side of the new limit loop wire might allow the reproducer to seat completely flat into its correct position. I'd be curious to see if your reproducer seats perfectly into the carriage as it was made in your picture. Thanks for sharing this idea!

Doug,

The area where James has attached his new limit loop clears the eye of the carriage and hangs down below the carriage's lip.
