Also, I think the BVT came in two versions. Does yours appear to have ever had the back bracket? I'm guessing the tone arm is difficult to locate.

According to the late Howard Hazelcorn,
"This model [BVT] was a Type 'BV' with a rear mounted tone-arm... it was secured to the back of the cabinet by two large bolts that passed through the box and fastened on the inside...

"The 'Oxford Talking Machine'... was also a Type 'BV' but with a fully detachable rear-mount tone arm... mounted to the back top moulding of the machine with a screw tightening C-clamp. A small extension (that was part of the rear-mount casting) protruded over the top of the bedplate and locked under a wide flat U-shaped rod. The two ends of this rod hooked into the lid latch openings at the side of the bedplate..."

Thank you. I believe that the elbow and horn that I've pictured and the machine came from the same owner, which is why I was wondering if they might have gone together originally.
