According to the late Howard Hazelcorn,
"This model [BVT] was a Type 'BV' with a rear mounted tone-arm... it was secured to the back of the cabinet by two large bolts that passed through the box and fastened on the inside...
"The 'Oxford Talking Machine'... was also a Type 'BV' but with a fully detachable rear-mount tone arm... mounted to the back top moulding of the machine with a screw tightening C-clamp. A small extension (that was part of the rear-mount casting) protruded over the top of the bedplate and locked under a wide flat U-shaped rod. The two ends of this rod hooked into the lid latch openings at the side of the bedplate..."
