The Continuous gramophone at Dreweatt's collectors' sale on 11th November 2008, which I attended, was part of the Ron Armstrong collection of well over 100 lots. It made £900 against a pre-sale estimate of £1000/£2000. Many people were put off by it's complexity, as they were by the c.1910 multi turntable disc talking machine (probably by the Caille Company) which failed to reach it's reserve. I wonder what happened to that one.

The main talking point among those present was the Buyer's Premium of 20%+VAT, which in 2008 was among the highest ever seen.
Today it would seem reasonable compared to the outrageous and unjustified charges which have now become the norm.
